Chairman of the Supreme Council of Egyptian Armed Forces, Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi met here today Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who is currently visiting Egypt. During the meeting, they discussed developments and changes, both in terms of the on-going regional and international efforts to revive the peace process in the Middle East in the light of events and subsequent developments witnessed by the countries of the region in addition to the Egyptian efforts to support the Palestinian cause. They also reviewed the progress of contacts in achieving reconciliation among all factions and bringing about unity in realizing the legitimate demands of the Palestinian people.
