Published in Saudi Press Agency on 01 - 08 - 2011

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session held at Al-Salam palace in Jeddah this evening.
At the outset of the meeting, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques congratulated the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Islamic and Arab peoples on the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan, appealing to Allah Almighty to avail a successful fasting for all Ramadan fasters. He also instructed that more effort be exerted to provide services for the comfort of Umrah worshippers and visitors of the holy places, calling on all fasters to follow the instructions of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) during this blessed month and avail themselves of those blessed days to provide assistance to the needy.
Following the meeting, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja, the Minister of Culture and Information, said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the meeting on the consultations and contacts he made over last week on the latest developments at the Arab, Islamic and international arenas, including the telephone call he has received from the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.
The Minister said the Cabinet was then briefed on a host of reports on the developments in a number of Arab sisterly countries as regards the falling of more victims and injured people and reiterated the Kingdom's firm stance in this regard, appealing to Allah Almighty to make the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan a great chance for the Islamic nation to achieve fraternity and tolerance, discard differences and show keenness to live in peace.
