The Gulf Federation of Manufacturers of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Supplies was launched here today as the first Union patronizes and regulates the affairs of this sector in the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Yemen. The launching came following the constituent meeting of the Union hosted by the Qatar-based Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC). On the occasion, the GOIC Secretary General Abdulaziz bin Hamad Al-Aqeel said in a press statement that the new Federation is a first and important step for the prosperity of this vital industry in view of what is provided by the sector of the pharmaceutical industry of promising opportunities for investment, pointing out that the value of the pharmaceutical drugs market in the GCC member states and Yemen is estimated at $ six billions.
