Akhir 14, 1432 / March 19, 2011, SPA -- South Korea and China on Saturday pledged to cooperate more closely in future on nuclear safety, in the wake of the crippling of the nuclear plant in Japan following the country's devastating earthquake and tsunami, dpa reported. The two countries will focus on disaster management and nuclear security, South Korean Foreign Minister Kim Sung Hwan said, according to Yonhap news agency. "Visible results" will be expected at a forthcoming tripartite summit of South Korea, China and Japan in Kyoto, which was initially meant to focus on North Korea's nuclear programme. Japan has also promised to keep China and South Korea fully informed of the latest information on its stricken reactors at the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
