Awwal 13, 1432, Feb 16, 2011, SPA -- Japan and India signed today a bilateral agreement on free trade that would eliminate tariffs on more than 90 per cent of trade between the two countries for a period of ten years. The agreement was signed by Japanese Foreign Minister Seiji Maehara and Indian Minister of Trade and Industry Anand Sharma at a ceremony held at the headquarters of the Japanese Foreign Ministry this morning in Tokyo. The Japanese Foreign Minister said that the agreement will encourage the strengthening of strategic partnership between the two countries in order to establish a relationship that could ensure profitable growth.
