Prince Sultan Ibn Salman Ibn Abdulaziz, President of Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities said that Saudi Arabia is not a sudden emergent country in history, but it has witnessed successive civilizations that have been contributing to economic and political movements around the world. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA) after inspecting here on Monday Exhibition of Archaeological Masterpieces of Saudi Arabia, he pointed out that the first step of this two-month exhibition was during the visit of former French President Jacques Chirac to Saudi Arabia in 2006, adding that Louvre is not a museum only, but rather a pioneering scientific institution that has helped us to repair some pieces of antiquities and to present them appropriately, affirming deep relations between Saudi Arabia and France. The Prince said that this exhibition stresses the fact that Saudi Arabia in this exceptional stage of its history, its world presence, and influential presence in making history, is not an emergent country in history, but it is a country with deep history and that this Exhibition actually shows these aspects, which have not found the right to be displayed so far, namely successive civilizations in our dear country. Prince Sultan Ibn Salman said that the exhibition contains masterpieces shown for the first time, emphasizing the importance of showing them, as their concealment means hiding the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that culminated into Islam.
