Pakistan's Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani will start later today a five-day official visit to China. A statement released by the military spokesman in Rawalpindi said the visit of General Kayani comes in response to an invitation extended to him by China's Armed Forces Command. The statement said the official visit of the Chief of the Army Staff would focus on enhancing bilateral relations between Pakistan and China. General Kayani is scheduled to hold a series of meetings with top Chinese military officials to review aspects of military cooperation. On Tuesday afternoon, General Kayani called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at Prime Minister House and discussed with him the overall security situation of Pakistan. General Kayani also apprised the Prime Minister on his visit to China, according to a report of the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).
