The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will celebrate on Wednesday the 5th Anniversary of the accession to the throne by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud. In his era, since the Pledge of Allegiance on 26/06/1426H, the Kingdom has witnessed more gigantic developmental achievements in all sectors including among others education and scientific researches. In a report on this occasion, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) highlighted the most prominent accomplishments in the fields of education and scientific research. Within the framework of the support provided by the Government to create knowledge-based society, 26 % of the state's budget is allocated for education. The Cabinet approved King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz Project for Development of Public Education at a cost of SR 9 billion in 1428H for development of curriculums, advanced education for teachers and improvement of educational environment. The project came in response to the requirements of "Education Document" presented by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz to the leaders of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states. --MORE
