Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh region held here today a meeting with Jonas Jahr Stّre, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway within the framework of his current visit to the Kingdom of Norway.
At the outset of the meeting, Jonas Stّre expressed thanks to Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz for responding to the invitation to visit the Kingdom of Norway, stressing the depth of Norwegian-Saudi relations.
"We have political and economic issues which will be tackled by us during this meeting from which we look forward to strengthening cooperation between our two friendly countries.", the Norwegian Foreign Minister stressed.
For his part, Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz expressed hope that his current visit to Norway will contribute to the strengthening of relations between the two countries.
He also asserted that the Kingdom's relations with Norway is strong, highlighting the importance of exchanging visits between officials of the two countries to cement areas of cooperation, welcoming in this regard, the investments of Norwegian businessmen in Saudi Arabia.
Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz stated that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will open an embassy in Norway during the next weeks.
Then, Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz graced a luncheon held in his honor by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway.
During the occasion, Prince Salman stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia wants good for all, and stands with justice towards the international issues, noting that the Kingdom's policy is clear in all areas.
Following their meeting, a joint press conference was held between the Norwegian Foreign Minister and Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz told journalists that "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia wants the Palestinian people to get their rights under the resolutions of international legitimacy, and wants stability for all".
He also confirmed that the views between the Kingdom and Norway are identical in many issues, expressing happiness to visit Norway and thanks for the warm hospitality accorded to him and the accompanying delegation by the Norwegian officials.
For his part, the Norway's Foreign Minister said in the press conference that his talks with Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz covered economic, political and cultural topics, expressing hope that the visit will contribute to promoting his country's cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all fields.
The meeting and luncheon were attended by members of the official delegation accompanying Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz.
