King Saud University (KSU) was awarded United Nations International Prize on Improving Public Services, it was reported here today. The prize is given in consideration of four standards: the enhancement of transparency and investigation, improvement of the process of providing services, government's usage of information and telecommunications technology and instituting the information administration inside the government. A powerful delegation from the National Commission for the Academic Accreditation and Evaluation is scheduled to visit KSU tomorrow to consider its application for being accredited by national and international accreditation authorities in terms of the institutional context of the university's mission and objectives, authorities and administration, management for quality guarantee and learning and educational quality, students support and administration services, learning sources, support of the infrastructure for facilities and appliances, financial administration and planning, employment processes, social contributions for research and institutional relations with the society. KSU is the first Saudi university to apply for such title. The university received congratulation letters and cables from a number of academic personalities and authorities on this achievement.
