A Finnish Air Force two-seat F/A18-D Hornet crashed today but the two crew members were able to eject safely from the plane, dpa quoted the Finnish defence command as saying. The plane crashed into a field in Juupajoki in south-western Finland roughly 40 minutes after taking off from Halli airbase, an Air Force spokesman told the German Press Agency dpa. There were no reports of any casualties or damage to property on the ground, and a probe has been launched into the crash. The two crew members were taken to hospital in Tampere for treatment but their injuries were not serious, the spokesman said.
