Dr Ghazi al-Qusaibi, the labor minister, has highlighted the importance of KAUST, and said it constitutes a great achievement. In a statement to SPA, Dr al-Qusaibi said the dream of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz for a bright and promising future for the Saudis has become a reality. He noted that the university is based on a solid foundation and subsequently it will positively contribute to development in the field of sciences and technology. The university will be provided with prominent scientists and outstanding students, he said adding that the university will cooperate with prestigious universities in the world in the field of scientific researches. The university stands as a witness for King Abdullah's farsightedness and wisdom, he said. Dr al-Qusaibi pointed out that the university is a scientific institution which is concerned with higher studies and scientific researches, and it will benefit from the international contribution in the field of knowledge development, he elaborated. Dr al-Qusaibi believes that the university will enable the Kingdom to catch the train of the developed countries in the field of technology and sciences, and moreover it will positively contribute to solving development problems. The inauguration of the university is a culmination to several economic, social and educational achievements, he added.
