The Saudi British Business Council held here today its second and closing day of the conference of Survey of Investment Opportunities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In the presence of a hundred British businessmen and investors, the conference discussed the results of a study co-prepared by the British Bureau for Trade and Investment and Saudi General Authority for Investment on the business opportunities available in Saudi Arabia. Council's members also held a number of workshops dealt with the business and investment opportunities available in the areas of education, training, health, financial services, transportation, and energy services in Saudi Arabia. Speaking on the occasion, Baroness Symons, Head of the British side of the Council, said that "This year is special because it witnessed a further strengthening of the relations of the Council towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia." In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, she added that "both countries are focusing on the sector of education and training". For his part, Sir William Patey, Britain's Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia said that "today's conference was designed to look at what could be done because we are partners in an ambitious program of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the General Authority for Investment to build economic cities to serve as a leap to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the next phase of growth and development.”
