Jordanian Tourism and Antiquities Minister Maha Al-Khateeb has highlighted the achievements attained by Saudi Arabia in the tourism sector, noting that the establishment of the General Commission for Tourism and Antiquities constitutes a remarkable progress. In a press statement on the fringes of her visit to Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, she hailed the efforts of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah region, to make Makkah a model city. Al-Khateeb held a meeting with the Chamber's chairman, Talal Mirza, and its members and several businessmen. Al-Khateeb highlighted the existing deep-rooted relations between Saudi Arabia and Jordan underscoring the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries. She pointed out that the Saudi cities have tourism components for attracting tourists in addition to the Two Holy Mosques. The Jordanian Minister briefed the audience on the industry of tourism and antiquities and the facilities being extended to the Arab investors notably the Saudi investors. On his part, Mirza underscored the importance of developing tourism in the Arab countries.
