President Isma'il Omar Gilia of Djibouti patronized here today a conference organized by the MWL in cooperation with the ministry of Islamic affairs and endowments in Djibouti. The inaugural session of the conference on "Muslims of East Africa" was attended by MWL's Secretary General Dr Abdullah bin AbdulMohsin Al-Turki. Speaking on the occasion, Djibouti's minister of Islamic affairs and endowments Hamid Sultan said the conference aims at enhancing cooperation between the MWL and Djibouti. Slamming the endeavors of some westerners to obliterate Islam, he said the Muslims were pioneers of civilization. "Islam is the religion of tolerance and love as well as coexistence," he said. --MORE
