Suraiseri formalized the center's accreditation as a marine academy after the visit and clarified requirements that must be fulfilled. Marine manager Mohammed F. Otaibi said that the approval marks a turning point in the history of maritime training in Saudi Arabia, as the academy is the first internationally recognized maritime academy in the country, and looked forward to receiving full approval after completing the ministry requirements.
