Nearly 60 percent of Saudi Aramco's Exploration's Seismic workflow will be accessed through Data Services Software (DSS) by 2011, according to an official of the company. The Head of Texas-based Petris Technology Inc. recently visited Dhahran to celebrate finalizing the agreement between Saudi Aramco and Petris to commercialize the Data Services Software (DSS). The visit was the culmination of a long process to enable Petris to market the software, which was designed by the Exploration Application Services Department (EASD) to manage large amounts of data in several databases so engineers and researchers can access scientific data efficiently and cost-effectively. Petris Technology president and CEO James Pritchett thanked the company, Aramco Services Co. and the Data Services team for their cooperation in bringing the software to the marketplace. --MORE
