Prison guards in Belgrade jail found a plastic gun in a cell belonging to Milorad Ulemek - the man found guilty of organizing the 2003 assassination of Serb Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic, local media reported, according to dpa. Ulemek, aka Legija, was reportedly in extremely poor health and demanded to be transferred to the military clinic in Belgrade. When guards searched his cell, they found a plastic replica of a 9mm pistol and notified authorities, who blocked the transfer to the hospital, daily Blic reported. The Serbian Ministry of Justice issued a statement later on Monday saying that Ulemek's transfer to Belgrade hospital was banned, since his life was not in danger. Ulemek complained about high blood pressure the night between February 9 and 10 but due to the risk of flight, his transfer to the hospital was stopped, statement reads. Ministry adds that the medical team sent to the prison examined the prisoner and gave him all the care he needed. Daily Blic reported that "one of the possible reasons for his condition could be the influence of a chemical he deliberately took." Ulemek is serving several prison terms, including a 40-year term for organizing the killing of Djindjic.
