Presided over by its Vice-Chairman Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Hamzah Hajjar, the Shoura Council held its 75th ordinary session here today. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Secretary General of Shoura Council Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi said that the Council approved an amendment of Article (1) of the Royal Decree No. (44) dated 29/11/1377H. to charge 10% of the value of foreigners' real estate if the ownership of such real state was transferred by means other than sale except in the cases of inheritance, will or endowment as well as in the cases of granting or ceding ownership free of charge to a first degree relative or charity bodies such as endowments and the like. Al-Ghamdi also said that the Council approved the minutes signed between Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and Sudanese Minister of Energy and Mines. The Council discussed a report on the amendment to the Regulation of Electricity as regards making the dual production of water and electricity mandatory to all electricity plants established on the shores of the sea. Then, the Council authorized the Committee of Water, Facilities and Public Services to study the proposal. The Council discussed a report on the issuance of a draft regulation of Saudi real estate market. Then, the Council authorized the Finance Affairs Committee to study the proposal.
