Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari left Islamabad this morning for Beijing on a four-days visit to China in response to an invitation extended to him by President Hu Jintao. This is Pakistani President's first official visit to China since he took office last September. He will have a series of meetings with the Chinese President, a number of high-level officials and businessmen. Zardari was accompanied by Defense Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar, and adviser to the Ministry of Finance Shaukat Train as well as a number of senior Pakistani officials and media and business representatives. Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi arrived in Beijing yesterday to arrange the visit of President Zardari. The talks are aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two sides in various fields and signing a number of cooperation agreements.
