Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi arrived here today. He is scheduled to meet Libyan President Muammar Gaddafi and sign a friendship treaty which will end differences between the two counties. The differences go back to the colonial era. Berlusconi's talks in Libya are expected to open doors for great Italian investments in Libya. In a statement prior to arrival to Benghazi, the Italian premier said the friendship treaty which he will sign in Libya will open a new page in the Libyan-Italian relations and pave the way for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the various domains notably in the field of combating terrorism and organized crime.
