The Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Customs Union held its 45th meeting here today. During the several-day meeting, a number of issues will be discussed, including steps to be taken by the member states to remove obstacles that obstruct the march of joint action of GCC customs union and end the transitional period in accordance with the proposal of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud during the 28th session of the supreme council for accelerating performance and removing obstacles that obstruct the march of joint action. Also, the Committee will discuss the possibility of increasing customs duties of tobacco and its derivatives in order to reduce smoking.
