Secretary General of Gulf Organization for Industrial Investments (GOII) Ahmed Al-Matawa has expressed keenness of the Organization to admit Yemen as GOII's seventh member. In a statement this morning on arrival at Sana'a International Airport, Al-Matawa told Yemen's news agency "SABA" that the accession of Yemen into organization would allow it to benefit from consultations, studies and reports presented by the organization on prospects of setting up new industrial projects. He affirmed that Yemen is rich in natural, industrial and human resources. Al-Matawa made it clear that he would hold talks with Yemeni officials in the ministry of industry over required measures to admit Yemen into the organization and conduct studies for industrial projects that would be proposed by investors in Yemen. The organization was established in 1976 as a regional body that deals with the industrial development in member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
