Officials from the Palestinian Hamas group are traveling to Cairo for talks with Egyptian officials on a prisoner exchange with Israel and prospects of reconciliation with Fattah, the Associated Press reported. Hamas political bureau member Mohammed Nasr says he and the group's deputy leader Moussa Abu Marzouk will travel Tuesday to Egypt where they also will discuss the group's fragile truce with Israel and crossings into the Gaza Strip. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said Sunday that Egypt would begin coordinating Hamas-Fatah reconciliation talks.
