Dr. Nabil Haddad, the Director of the Center of Religious Coexistence in Amman, praised on Sunday the initiative of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz to promote dialogue between followers of revealed Messages and oriental philosophies. In a statement to Saudi Press Agency, he said "the initiative was a vital and an important step that comes at a time when the world needs such positive efforts which are in the interest of the entire mankind". Dr. Haddad noted that the crises facing the world at the present time require the intervention of wise leaders in this world to launch such powerful initiatives to address tensions and wars in the world and to work towards safeguarding human values in order to benefit mankind. Dr. Haddad, who is by religion an Arab Christian activist in the area of dialogue and convergence between adherents for many years on regional and international arenas, said that the World Conference on Dialogue to be held in Madrid under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is a vital and a qualitative step forward in international efforts to address the sufferings of human beings, resulting from the modern world which is witnessing a phenomenon of family disintegration and moral decadence and environmental pollution, conflicts and tensions and wars in various forms. --MORE
