Crown Prince Sultan: Arab Nation is capable of resolving crises
Published in Saudi Press Agency on 07 - 06 - 2008

Crown Prince Sultan bin Abudlaziz, the Deputy Premier, Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, has reiterated the keenness of the Arab nation on serving its interests and its capability in resolving Arab crises.
He said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is going ahead on its efforts either within the framework of the Arab house, or at the regional and international arena for enhancing pillars of security and stability for all.
In a statement to Asharq-al-awsat newspaper, published today, Prince Sultan said the Kingdom was keen on calling all Lebanese parties to settle their differences through dialogue, taking into account the national interest to reach an agreement for sovling the problems far away from tension and escalation.
He noted that the Kingdom has reaffirmed the importance of activating Lebanese institutions and enhancing its stability and prosperity.
"We do feel comfortable for realizing these goals and we hope that Doha agreement and election of Michel Suleiman are starting points toward a stable and prosperous future for Lebanon."
He underlined the importance of coordination of the efforts of the Lebanese people with their all political factions for the serivce of their country through their constitutional institutions under the umbrella of an agreement and a state that imposes its sovereignty on all.
Prince Sultan said what makes it satisfactory is the fact that the solution of the Lebanese problem has come within the framework of the Arab house.
As Taif agreement was of an Arab entity and enhanced the constitutional building of Lebanon and its institutions, the agreement of Doha has also come as 'Arabian' to enhance these trends and to reiterate the style of dialogue and agreement which rejects the style of conflict and confrontation.
The Arab nation is keen on serving the interests of its countries and nations irrespective of the foreign purposes, and moreover Doha agreement reflects the capability of the Arab nation of solving the Arab crises if seriousness and credibility are available."
