The Minister of Finance Dr. Ibrahim Al-Assaf, and US Secretary of Treasury Henry Paulson held a press conference here today. At the start of the conference, Dr. Al-Assaf welcomed the US secretary, pointing out that his visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is part of consultations between the Kingdom's Ministry of Finance and US Department of Treasury. He noted that the visit is an opportunity to exchange opinions about a number of issues related to economic relations between the Kingdom and the United States of America, the world economic situations, the oil market, financial markets, effects and developments of the real estate market in the United States on US economy and consequently on the global economy, along with the growth in the Gulf economy. Dr. Al-Assaf also pointed out that the US Secretary of Treasury was briefed on the decisions, projects and economic situation in the Kingdom in addition to the oil policies and economic integration among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. --More
