Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission of India, Montek Singh Ahluwalia met with Saudi businessmen at Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry here today . At the beginning of the meeting, the member of the Board of Directors of Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Abdulrahman Al-Tuwaijri delivered a speech in which he emphasized the strength of Saudi-Indian relations in various fields, pointing out that there are a large number of Indian workers in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Al-Tuwaijri called for more joint investments between the Kingdom and India, noting that India is distinguished by agricultural and technical fields. For his part, the Indian official delivered a speech in which he said that his country's economy is the second most important Asian economy after China, emphasizing the importance of tourism for the Indian economy, in addition to the fields of industry, agriculture, financial investment, as well as energy, petrochemicals and fertilizers. He affirmed the huge investment offers in India, pointing to the laws recently enacted by the government to promote investment, calling on Saudi businessmen to explain to the Indian side the obstacles facing their investment in India.
