Obeid said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been working to revise the various educational systems taking into account the importance of enhancing the pillars of religious and national values. He noted that in last five years hundreds of scientific colleges and technological centers were established in the country in addition to formation of a higher educational committee and approval of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz's program for the development of the general education. Dr al-Obeid said the school was and still the way of the various nations to go ahead on the path of the future, and added 'but in the last few decades some political, social , economic and information forces participated the school in that mission. Underlining the importance of information revolution, Dr al-Obeid said according to the statistics of the international telecommunications union (ITU), more than 50 percent of the gross national product (gnp) in west Europe, America and Japan depends on the industries based on information. Moreover, the revenues of India from the knowledge economy exceeded $100 billion by the end of 2006, he noted. Transformation to a society of knowledge requires visions, goals, strategies and procedures which depend on a strong and flexible educational thought that is capable of benefiting from the past and analyzing the present as well as reaction with the future and the positively dealing with the changes in addition to creation of scientific solutions, he elaborated. Meanwhile, Dr Abdulaziz al-Tuwaijri, the director general of ISESCO, called for giving more attention to the talented and said they constitute the valuable human wealth. He noted that the Arab countries have a number of gifted people who should discovered.
