Johani noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the cradle of Islam, is keen on realizing a sustainable tourism which takes into account the deep-rooted Islamic values. He noted that the general strategic for national tourism development, earlier approved by the government, aims at broadening the contribution of the tourism sector to the gross national product (gnp) and increasing it to 18 percent of the gnp by 1440. Al-Johani pointed out that the volume of tourism industry in the Kingdom has amounted to more than sr 61 billion. He said the higher tourism commission is keen on attracting investors to invest their capitals in the field of tourism. --more
