Bideir, the Imam of the Prophet's Mosque, led the prayers.
Speaking on the occasion, al-Bideir urged the Muslims to remain God-fearing people.
He said if the Muslims are keen on the rainfall, then they should repent and cease committing sins.
Al-Bideir said in cases of disasters, there is no way for the Muslims but to resort to Allah al-Mighty and ask his forgiveness.
