Prince Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, the Deputy Defense and Aviation Minister and Inspector General, said the topics discussed at the meeting of GCC Foreign Ministers, Defense Ministers, and Heads of the National Security organs concern only the Arab Gulf states. In a press statement following the end of the meeting yesterday, Prince Abdulrahman underlined the importance of preserving the unity of Iraq and said the Iraqis should shoulder their responsibility towards their country. Asked about the conscription of the sons of the Gulf states, he said Saudi youth can join the armed forces without being forced to do so, and they will be thanked for that. He said the service of the homeland is one of the most important kinds of services. Asked about the arrangements and measures in case of a military strike against Iran, he said all countries should take the required measures in all cases and continuously. Prince Abdulrahman said the armed forces will work to develop themselves.
