An oil tanker was burning Thursday in a port on the southern Caribbean island of Curacao, witnesses told Reuters. Shipping officials told witnesses that their initial reports said the ship was transporting oil products, such as gasoline, and had been undergoing repairs to its hull when there was an explosion on the ship. There may have been some deaths caused by the accident, they said.Curacao has a refinery, La Isla, which is operated by Venezuelan state oil company PDVSA.
