Israeli soldiers stationed along the border between northern Gaza and Israel killed on Saturday two members of the armed wing of President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement, a top medical official said, according to dpa. Mo'aweya Hassanein, chief of emergencies in the Palestinian Health Ministry, told reporters that ambulances brought two bodies from northern Gaza Strip to Shiffa Hospital in Gaza City. He added that residents living in the area called the hospital and reported that two people had been killed and that their bodies were on the ground. Palestinian ambulances were sent to the area and brought the two bodies to the hospital, he said. Meanwhile, al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in a leaflet identified the dead as Yahia Barakat and Tamer el-Khatib, both members of the brigades. It said they were killed while on a military mission in the area. Earlier Saturday, the Israeli army forces pulled back from the south-east Gaza Strip. The Palestinians said that Israeli soldiers had detained at least 50 people during ground operations along the borders between Israel and Gaza.
