Investigators in Kentucky say a mother and son found dead in their Louisville apartment shot each other. Leon Porter, 28, and his mother, Bonnie Porter, 45, were both shot -- Bonnie several times and Leon with a single bullet in the head, the Louisville (Ky.)Courier-Journal reported. Police say that Leon Porter apparently shot his mother first, according to UPI. "She was hit several times but she was able to return fire," said Lt. Barry Wilkerson, head of the Louisville Metro Police homicide unit. Charles Johns, a friend of Bonnie Porter, said her son suffered from severe depression, was hospitalized last year and supposed to be taking medication. He said Leon Porter's behavior deteriorated after he broke up with his girlfriend. Bonnie Porter had worked hard to support her son and put him through college, Johns said. Police discovered the bodies Thursday night after going to the apartment at the request of Bonnie Porter's employer.
