Pakistan's Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao has left for Austria to attend a UN sponsored meeting between Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan for a joint fight against drugs and other crimes, in Vienna, according to an official statement. Sherpao is heading a three-member delegation to the conference. It includes Narcotics Division Secretary Ismail Niazi and National Police Bureau director general Shoaib Siddal. Before departing for Austria, Sherpao told reporters at the Islamabad airport that Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan's joint efforts could help eliminate crimes from the region more effectively. He said the Vienna summit would prove helpful for discussing other bilateral matters of mutual interest. He expressed satisfaction over the deletion of Pakistan from the list of trafficking-countries and said that it had been possible through the government's strict policies to eradicate crimes.
