Naimi stressed the importance of supporting this kind of dialogue to produce more mutual cooperation not only in energy but also in fields of strategic economy and education. He descried 'open and constructive' dialogue as an important step to form a relationship that supports energy security and enhances the living standards. On his part, Akira Amari, Japan's minister of Energy and Industry said in his speech that Riyadh meeting comes at a very good time and that it is an opportunity to discuss the methods of energy security and achieving mutual economic development. "Energy is a vital element for sustainable development and enhancing peoples' lives. It is expected in 2030, the world demand of oil will increase by 50% especially in Asia. Today, Energy demand in Asia accounts for 40% of world demands, 60% is the expected growth of the world demand in 2030 due to increase of energy consumption in Asian countries," Akira added. The Secretary General of the International Energy Forum (IEF), Arne Walther spoke on the occasion highlighting the importance of Energy in the world economy and the role of the roundtable meeting in particular.
