Published in Saudi Press Agency on 27 - 03 - 2007

THE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDUL-AZIZ
WILL MEET LATER TODAY IN RIYADH HIS BROTHERS - THE ARAB LEADERS ON THE EVE OF THE 19TH ARAB SUMMIT STARTING TOMORROW. THE SUMMIT IS BEING HOSTED BY THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA, WHICH IS WELL-KNOWN FOR ITS DISTINGUISHED EFFORTS IN UNIFYING ARAB RANKS TO CONFRONT CURRENT CHALLENGES FACING THE ARAB NATION.
THE KINGDOM HAS BEEN FOLLOWING A WISE AND AN INALIENABLE POLICY AS REGARDS ESTABLISHING BALANCED RELATIONS WITH ALL FRATERNAL COUNTRIES AND SETTLING DISPUTES THAT MAY TAKE PLACE AMONG THE ARAB COUNTRIES.
KING ABDULLAH WAS QUOTED AS SAYING 'WE ARE LINKED WITH OUR ARAB BRETHREN WITH THE BONDS OF LANGUAGE, HISTORY AND FATE, AND SO WE WILL REMAIN UNITED IN THE PURSUIT OF ENABLING THEM RESTORE THEIR LEGITIMATE RIGHTS, NOTABLY THE PALESTINIANS. 'IN THIS AGE, NO GLORY CAN BE RESTORED WITHOUT STRENGTH AND NO STRENGTH WITHOUT UNITY'.
IN AUGUST 1985, A COMMITTEE WAS FORMED FOR CLEARING THE ARAB ATMOSPHERE AT THE EXTRAORDINARY ARAB SUMMIT HELD IN MOROCCO, UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ (WHO WAS THE CROWN PRINCE AT THAT TIME). IN ORDER TO CARRY OUT HIS MISSION, KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ VISITED JORDAN, SYRIA, IRAQ AND SYRIA, AND HE SUCCESSFULLY NARROWED DIFFERENCES AND UNIFIED THE ARAB RANKS.
THE KINGDOM HAS BEEN GIVING A GREAT ATTENTION TO THE PALESTINIAN PROBLEM AND HAS BEEN DOING ITS BEST TO REACH A JUST RESOLUTION THAT ENABLES THE PALESTINIANS TO RETURN TO THEIR HOMELAND.
IN LINE WITH THIS POLICY, KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ PRESENTED THE ARAB PEACE PLAN, WHICH WAS APPROVED BY THE ARAB SUMMIT HELD IN BEIRUT IN 2002.
