In presence of Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz, Member of the Board of Trustees of the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), Head of Support and Public Relations Committee, Head of IAPB Regional Office for Eastern Mediterranean, the IAPB Board of Trustees held here today its two-day meeting. During the meeting, the record of the previous meeting was discussed and approved. Then, the Coordinator of Countering and Managing Chronic Diseases at the World Health Organization Dr. Serge Raznikov presented a detailed report on the updated statistics of blindness, praising the progress in the activities of combating blindness. Dr. Raznikov said that the 1st World Solidarity Conference for Tropical Diseases will be held in Geneva during the period 19-20 April 2007, pointing out that Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmed bin Abdulaziz is invited to participate as a key speaker in recognition of his effective activities in combating blindness, in addition to the Vice-President of Tanzania as well as a number of health ministers. At the end of the meeting, financial outcomes for 2006 and IAPB audit's report were discussed and the budget for 2007 were approved.
