INTERIOR MINISTERS OF IRAQ'S NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES END MEETING

THE INTERIOR MINISTERS OF IRAQ'S NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES ENDED HERE YESTERDAY THEIR THIRD SESSION UNDER THE CHAIRMANSHIP OF PRINCE NAIF BIN ABDULAZIZ,THE INTERIOR MINISTER.
THE MEETING WAS ATTENDED BY THE INTERIOR MINISTERS OF KUWAIT, BAHRAIN, JORDAN, IRAQ, EGYPT, TURKEY, IRAN AND SYRIA.
THE MINISTERS REVIEWED THE OUTCOME OF THE TWO PREVIOUS MEETINGS HELD RESPECTIVELY IN TEHRAN AND ISTANBUL, AND EXPRESSED SATISFACTION FOR THE ACHIEVEMENTS ACCOMPLISHED IN THIS RESPECT.
MEANWHILE, THE MINISTERS AGREED ON THE FOLLOWING:
-THE IMPORTANCE OF SECURITY COORDINATION AND COOPERATION AMONG IRAQ'S NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES AS REGARDS EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION PERTAINING TO COMBATING TERRORISM, AND TAKING THE REQUIRED MEASURES FOR THE SURVEILLANCE OF INFILTRATION AND SMUGGLING ACROSS THE IRAQI BORDERS. THEY REITERATED THEIR SUPPORT TO THE EFFORTS OF THE IRAQI GOVERNMENT TO ENSURE SECURITY AND STABILITY.
-THE IMPORTANCE OF ENDING ACTIVITIES OF THE TERROR GROUPS WHICH THREATEN THE SECURITY OF IRAQ AND THE NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES.
-CONDEMNATION OF TERROR ACTS WHICH TARGET THE IRAQIS AND OTHERS AS WELL AS SUPPORTING THE ONGOING EFFORTS FOR ENHANCING THE PILLARS OF STABILITY IN IRAQ.
-REJECTION OF ALL ATTEMPTS TO ASSOCIATE ISLAM WITH TERRORISM, AND CONFIRMATION OF THE FACT THAT TERRORISM RUNS COUNTER TO THE PRINCIPLES AND VALUES OF ISLAM. THEY DEPLORED THE STATEMENT OF THE POPE OF THE VATICAN LAST WEEK WHICH INSULTED ISLAM AND MUSLIMS. THEY CALLED THE POPE TO ANNOUNCE A VERY CLEAR APOLOGY.
-SIGNING A MULTI-PARTY PROTOCOL IN THE FIELD OF SECURITY COOPERATION.
-CONFIRMATION OF SUPPORTING IRAQ'S UNITY, SECURITY, STABILITY AND SAFETY OF ITS TERRITORIES
-ESTABLISHMENT OF SECRETARIAT FOR MEETINGS IN BAGHDAD.
-CALLING ON THE INTERIOR MINISTRIES IN IRAQ'S NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES TO EXTEND ALL POSSIBLE SUPPORT TO THE IRAQI POLICE ORGANS.
-LAUDING THE INITIATIVE OF THE CUSTODIAN OF THE TWO HOLY MOSQUES KING ABDULLAH BIN ABDULAZIZ PERTAINING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR FIGHTING TERRORISM.
-EXPRESSING APPRECIATION FOR THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA FOR HOSTING THE MEETING.
-ACCEPTING THE INVITATION OF KUWAIT TO HOST THE FOURTH MEETING FOR THE INTERIOR MINISTER OF IRAQ'S NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES.
