Lt General Ahmad Ali Fadhil, the chairman of the commission of Suez Canal, said the canal, opened for international navigation 137 years ago, attained Wednesday, June 7, 2006, the highest daily revenue in its history. In a statement published here today, he said the revenue of the canal on Wednesday amounted to $13.7 million due to the transit of 61 ships carrying 2.72 million ton.
