Minister of Health Dr Hamad Al-Manei will launch here tomorrow the national campaign for cobmatting colon and rectum cancer. The Center of the National Record for Tumors estimates cases of colon cancer in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at about 438, while the number of cases of cancer in general is estimated at about 5, 616. Dr Mushabbab Al-Aseeri, the head of the department of tumors at the armed forces hospital in Riyadh, said the campaign due to be launched by the health ministry in cooperation with Roch and Sano group for medicines, aims at the awareness of the society with colon cancer. He underscored the importance of early diagnosis in cases of colon cancer. The hospitals of the health ministry; Riyadh-based King Faisal Specialist Hospital; the armed forces hospital; King Abdulaziz national guard medical city; Khubar-based King Faisal university and other concerned parties will participate in the campaign.
