Khobar, Saudi Arabia, April 13, SPA-- The Minister of Culture and Information Iyad bin Amin Madani held here on Wednesday evening a meeting with President of the Eastern Region Literary Club Jubair Al-Malihan and the Club's members. In a press statement following the meeting, the minister hoped that literary clubs activate their works and effects to be ones of centers of thought and social influence in every region which has a club, adding that the clubs should be open to all trends and pursue the National Dialogue Center as an example. He also hoped that a woman's element would play an effective role in the clubs, pointing out that every club will have a woman's committee to be an extension to the board of directors. Very soon, the ministry will inaugurate two literary clubs in Al-Ahsa and Jazan, the minister said. Minister Madani noted that the ministry is currently redrafting Culture and Arts Association to be as un umbrella to provide support for a regular framework and legitimacy for formations of inventors from all cultural types. The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Subayil, Undersecretary of Ministry of Culture and Information for Cultural Affairs.
