Quds city, Dec 22, SPA -- An Israeli woman was sentenced Thursday to three years in prison for aiding a Palestinian gunman and relaying information to the enemy, according to court documents. Tali Fahima, a paralegal, has been held in an Israeli prison since late 2004 after she struck up a friendship with Zakariye Zubeydi, a fugitive militant leader in the West Bank town of Jenin. Under a plea agreement, Fahima admitted to charges of contacting a "foreign agent" with the intent of harming Israel's security and passing information to the enemy. When the terms of the plea bargain were released last month, the Justice Ministry said she would be sentenced to three years in prison. The 14 months she has already spent in jail will count, the ministry said at the time, and Fahima could be released within a year if she has her sentenced reduced by one-third for good behavior, according to a report of The Associated Press.
