Al-Sheikh, July 23, SPA -- Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak condemned Saturday's multiple bombings in this Red Sea resort and vowed his country's security forces will hunt down those responsible. "This cowardly, criminal act is aimed at undermining Egypt's security and stability and harming its people and its guests," Mubarak said during a live nationally televised broadcast. "This will only increase our determination in chasing terrorism, cornering it and uprooting it." The string of early morning attacks killed at least 83 people, according to Dr. Saeed Abdel Fattah, manager of the Sharm el-Sheik International Hospital where the victims were taken. The bombings were Egypt's deadliest terror attacks ever. The Associated Press quoted Mubarak as saying terrorism's "ugly face" and "blindness" continues to plague the world and petrify innocent people. "Terrorism will not deviate Egypt from pursuing development for its people and peace and stability for the region," Mubarak vowed. "Our battle with terrorism will continue with all the strength, resolve and will that we have," he said. "We will not bow to its blackmail or compromise with it."
