Seven people were killed and 15 hospitalized Saturday when a truck plowed into a passenger bus in the Siberian region of Omsk, the regional branch of the Emergency Situations Ministry said. The crash occurred early Saturday when the truck veered into oncoming traffic. Local prosecutors opened a criminal inquiry into careless driving, killing two or more persons, which carries a maximum 10-year jail term, the state news agency RIA-Novosti reported. The truck driver was in a grave condition and one of the two bus drivers was also in the hospital, the ministry's press service said. All of those killed were passengers on the bus.
