U.S. and North Korean diplomats met Monday, allowing the Korean side to reply to proposals made a month ago by the Washington, a diplomat said, reported dpa. "We met today," said the North Korean diplomat, who asked to remain anonymous. "They came to us and now we gave them what we think about proposals made a month ago." "We have not changed our position," he told Deutsche Press-Agentur (dpa). The meeting took place at the North Korean mission to the United Nations. The diplomat refused to provide details of the talks and U.S. officials had no immediate comment, dpa reported. The U.S. has asked North Korea to return to six-nation talks sponsored by the Chinese government in Beijing, but Pyongyang balked at the demand and asked for direct talks with Washington to resolve a dispute over its nuclear programmes. --More 2255 Local Time 1955 GMT
