Asian shares were mixed Thursday, the Associated Press. Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 shed 0.2% to 27,419.61. Australia's S& P/ASX 200 slipped 0.7% to 6,968.60. South Korea's Kospi gained 0.3% to 2,424.48. Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 1.7% to 19,923.04, while the Shanghai Composite rose 0.5% to 3,282.11. Shares rose in India and Taiwan. In energy trading, benchmark U.S. crude fell 60 cents to $70.30 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude, the international standard, lost 52 cents to $76.17 a barrel. The U.S. dollar fell to 130.72 Japanese yen in currency trading from 131.39 yen. The euro cost $1.0926, up from $1.0857.
