GCC Secretary General Participates in 3rd Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum

Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Mohamed Albudaiwi, participated in the Third Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum (RIHF3) today, organized by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Riyadh. The event witnessed the participation of leaders, donors, workers, and researchers in the humanitarian field alongside others interested in promoting dialogue on the legislative and knowledge framework, field practices of humanitarian work, and the challenges associated with it to navigate innovative practical solutions under the relevant principles and standards, in addition to contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
On this occasion, the GCC Secretary General stressed the importance of the forum in building, consolidating, and activating the interdependent approach between humanitarian work, development, and peace, to ensure the accomplishment of sustainability in human societies, adapting technology and digital transformation to serve humanitarian work, and presenting the most prominent opportunities and challenges in this noble field, to develop innovative solutions, sustainable and effective humanitarian response, and accelerating the achievement of SDGs in this context.
Moreover, he stressed the need to anticipate and develop humanitarian action through scientific research and data quality governance, including evidence-and-practice-based studies encouraging and involving the youth in volunteer work and contributing to humanitarian work.
Additionally, the GCC Secretary General underlined the importance of sustainable human development, as it represents projects on the ground by devising opportunities, focusing on human growth, harnessing all capabilities for its advancement, supporting the efforts of institutions aimed at developing societies, achieving sustainability, and creating opportunities worthy of every effort that protects and preserves it so that the world can enjoy security and peace.
Furthermore, he praised the pioneering efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its wise government in providing relief, humanitarian work, and support to affected groups in all countries of the world, as well as developing and activating rapid response and partnerships with leading organizations to achieve digital transformation in humanitarian work and sustainable development.
