The 2023 UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup started Friday at the Elite Sports Center in Historic Diriyah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of the global qualifying tours for the 2023 Olympic Games in Paris. From February 10 to 18, the Diriyah Season in its second edition hosts this event for the first time in the Middle East. The first day witnessed a large attendance of families with their kids and fans enjoying training under internationally qualified coaches in several urban sports, from skating, BMX, scooter, and mountain bike to parkour. Kids and fans will learn the basics of these sports and be encouraged to play them by improving their skills, giving them opportunities to interact with people from around the world, increasing interest in different games, and building a generation of professional athletes who can compete regionally and globally. This initiative aims to improve and boost opportunities and create an attractive environment for sports events and investment, achieve excellence locally and globally, and raise the Saudi presence and representation in international sports. The UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup attracted a diverse audience. Events accompanying the championship included live DJ music, sports, and exclusive shows. Urban sports fans had spaces to play and practice their hobbies. Visitors enjoyed demos, workshops, and fantastic shows presented by elite professional athletes from around the world, hosting semi-competitions and meeting athletes. Moreover, the venue has several restaurants, shops, and cafes. The second week of the UCI BMX Freestyle World Cup begins on Wednesday, February 15 with group exercises. BMX, skating, and parkour complement Kenney Bekaey's spectacular show. Furthermore, tournament qualifiers for women and men take place on Thursday, February 16, while on Friday, February 17, the qualifying rounds for beginners and amateurs, warm-up rounds, and semi-final qualification for women and men take place, along with Kenny's amazing performances.
